He is son of Sivakumar born on July 23, 1975 in Coimbatore. He completed his B.com graduation and spent his time as an executive in a garment factory in Ambattur, Chennai. He starred in several films, such as Nandha, Ghajini, Perazhagan, Pithamagan and Vaaranam Aayiram. During his career, he has won three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards. He became a film distributor after opening Studio Green, which distributed several of his earlier films.He married actress Jyothika in September 11, 2006. In 2007, the couple’s daughter Diya was born.
